New Guide for Combustion and Inert Gas Fusion Instruments

1. Scope

1.1 This guide covers information and procedures for using combustion and inert gas fusion instruments to determine the mass fraction of the non-metallic elements C, S, N, O, and H in metals, ores, and related materials. 1.2 This guide does not specify all the operating conditions for combustion and inert gas fusion instruments because of the differences between different manufacturers. Laboratories should follow instructions provided by the manufacturer of the particular instrument. 1.3 Units--The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. No other units of measurement are included in this standard. 1.4 This standard does not purport to address all of the safety concerns, if any, associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use.

Keywords
