This standard is being balloted for withdrawal with no replacement because of the diminishing use of Mercury-in-Glass clinical thermometers. I have not been able to confirm that Mercury-in-Glass clinical thermometer available in the US retail market. The metal in this type thermometer have been replaced by a less toxic Gallium alloy and other types of temperature measurement devises are being more commonly used in the clinical setting. There is no longer a need to maintain this standard for clinical thermometers
