1.1 This guide describes procedures to determine the stability and load resistance (LR) of specified glass types, for reliable usage of glass in structural applications, where the glass is supporting other elements or is required to provide safety restraint to live loads. 1.4 This guide describes load resistance factored design (LRFD) procedures for glass structures. It provides guidance on retention and redundancy for safe usage. Special cases include glass fins, drilled glass, notched glass, glass stair treads, glass floor panels, and glass panels resisting live load, including balustrades.
