Committee Meetings

UPDATE 02/19/21: In light of COVID-19 (coronavirus) and ongoing safety concerns for members and staff, ASTM International has announced that all previously scheduled in-person April, May, and June standards development meetings (including D02 and independent meetings) have been transitioned to all virtual. As we move forward with virtual technical committee meetings, we want to provide some helpful information to maximize participation through the ASTM preferred virtual meeting platform, WebEx.

Many technical committee meetings, however, are being held virtually.

To view the status of your committee's next meeting and find the WebEx links to participate (where available), search by committee on www.astm.org/MEETINGS.

Members who are conducting virtual meetings and want to learn more about WebEx should visit www.astm.org/updates/committees.html

    Standards Development

With the recent meeting cancellations, your task groups and subcommittees can make the most of our web tools to continue your standards work, including crucial after-ballot discussions, without meeting in person. Click here for more information.

Continued Collaboration with ASTM SpecBuilder and the Member Collaboration Area

Continue to work on ballots and internal documents with no interruption using ASTM SpecBuilder and the Member Collaboration Area. These collaboration management and document development tools were designed to ease the process for collaboration, balloting, and tracking, and are more useful than ever when communicating with remote staff, stakeholders, and other committee members.

24/7 Access to Standards with ASTM Compass®

ASTM Compass® continues to run without interruption, providing you 24/7 online access to ASTM’s 12,000+ standards, 1,500+ books, and 47,000+ articles and papers, plus content from third-parties like AASHTO, AATCC, API, AWS, CGA, IES, and UOP. This includes individual subscriptions to the online ASTM Book of Standards. For immediate assistance with ASTM Compass, please contact Greg Crone, gcrone@astm.org, tel +1.610.832.9516, or Mark Reese, mreese@astm.org, tel +1.610.832.9533.

    Shippable Material

If you’re ordering a shippable product, please contact +1.877.909.2786 (USA & Canada), +001.601.832.9585, or email service@astm.org for assistance. Your ship-to address must be open to receive deliveries. ASTM will not be responsible for charges related to returned shipments.

    Training and eLearning

No in-person training courses will be held until future notice. However, we continue to offer over 300 online on-demand courses as well as our active ongoing webinar series. Each self-paced course is typically one hour in length, and many feature embedded course videos that show the proper way to perform ASTM standard test methods and procedures.

In addition, we will now be offering virtual training via Web-Ex for all in-person classes. Our instructors will livestream their instruction and all notes and materials will be provided electronically. You will also have on-demand access to your courses for 45 days after the date of the event. Visit our training and eLearning page for the most up-to-date training dates and webinars, and to register online.

    Proficiency Testing Programs (PTP)

Our Proficiency Testing Programs continue to run without interruption. At this time, we have not suspended any sample deliveries as our distribution facilities and delivery companies are still operational. Please note, if any of your labs are not operational or are unable to accept packages, please contact us immediately so we can hold the samples until any issues are resolved. Due to the changes in lab functionality and available staff, we are adding a two-week extension for data submissions to labs that request it. If your lab has reduced staff and needs additional time for testing, please contact hbucci@astm.org or service@astm.org directly to request an extension for data submission.

    Safety Equipment Institute (SEI)

Due to the travel limitations and temporary business closures, we are currently evaluating if quality audits typically done in person at manufacturers’ facilities can temporarily be conducted virtually. We will continue to update all manufacturers directly on any changes for our programs or processes. If you have specific questions about the status of your certification program or scheduled audit, please contact thock@seinet.org.

    Cement and Concrete Laboratory (CCRL)

For the safety and well-being of our CCRL inspectors, all Laboratory Inspection and Proficiency Sample Programs have currently been suspended indefinitely. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates regarding when inspections will resume as we know more. If you have any specific questions or concerns about your program, please contact ccrl@astm.org.
