Laser Damage in Optical Glasses

Source

After a brief review of the work which has been done at the Division of Optical Applications during the past five years on laser glass damage, we concentrate particularly on the unsolved current problems: filamentary damage in glasses, internal fractures due to inclusions other than platinum inclusions, and the phenomenon of glass fatigue. The first experimental results obtained on the filamentary damage are presented.
