Molybdenum-Vanadium Steels

The initial stress for the first test on the 1.35Mo-0.25V steel (Material 1) appears to be comparative with the curves for other materials. The 45,000-psi initial stress on the 0.5Mo-0.25V steel almost certainly resulted in a few thousand psi higher residual stress than for the curves drawn for other steels based on an initial stress of about 40,000 psi.
