The Design of Laboratory Control of Laundry Washrooms Based on an Analysis of Variance

Source

A method is described for employing an analysis of variance to determine the precision of a control service to commercial laundries. The statistical data accumulated by this method are also used to determine the number of specimens and tests per specimen that must be employed to achieve any desired precision or the expected precision for any given number of specimens and tests per specimen. A versatile method for the economic redesign of the testing procedure is also described. This method offers a technique for the research worker to determine what combination of specimens and tests per specimen will provide the desired testing precision at the minimum cost. This method of redesign is applicable to all types of testing and research programs where more than one specimen and one test per specimen are utilized to evaluate each datum point.
