SYMPOSIA PAPER Published: 01 January 1958

There has been a continuous growth of approximately 10 per cent per year in the size of the yearly supplement to this bibliography. This growth indicates that the basic scientific and technical work in this field is keeping pace with the developments in other fields of activity. During the past year, there have been two important books published in the general field of electrical contacts. The first was by F. Llewellyn Jones, “The Physics of Electrical Contacts,” published early in the year. Late in 1957, Ragnar Holm's new “Electric Contacts Handbook,” appeared. These two books are important milestones in the development of this field and give further emphasis to its importance. There are a few additional errata, which have been called to our attention, and which are listed in the following pages.
