Electron Probe Analysis of Minerals

Source

The electron probe microanalyzer has experienced a tremendous growth as an analytical tool and is one of the most powerful tools for in situ analysis. It has been used with great success in mineralogy and makes possible analytical studies not heretofore possible. A number of factors such as specimen preparation, appropriate standards, correction procedures, grain size, and interaction of the specimen with the electron beam must be considered to obtain optimum results.
