Reactor Dosimetry Study of the Rhode Island Nuclear Science Center

Source

The RINSC is a 2 MW light water reactor that has a graphite thermal column, that is used for educational and industrial applications as well as for biological research. A series of measurements and calculations have been performed in this thermal column. Thermoluminescent dosimeter measurements of the neutron dose rate and the gamma-ray dose rate, as well as bare gold foil and cadmium covered gold foil measurements of the thermal and epithermal neutron flux densities are graphically compared to MCNP Monte Carlo calculations.
