Bakelite Strain Gages for Temperatures Between −320 and 450 F.

Source

The demand for aircraft to perform at higher speeds has created a need for test instrumentation that is reliable and accurate at the increased temperatures indicated by such air speeds. It is also desirable that instrumentation of the same type be adaptable for missile programs. Depending upon the propellant, temperatures of a missile structure also can go as low as −300 F, for example with liquid oxygen as a fuel constituent.
