The Hose-Stream Test as a Part of Fire-Testing Procedure

Source

The basis for the inclusion of the hose-stream test as a part of fire-testing procedures is presented and the part it plays in the acceptance or rejection of the constructions tested. The force of the stream, as determined by computation and tests, is below the levels serving as a test for the stability such as of walls and partitions. The paper should be helpful in determining the extent to which the hose-stream test is justified as presently required in ASTM Methods E 119 and in considering any further changes relating thereto that should be made in the standard.
