(a) These specifications cover requirements for water suitable for use in methods of chemical analysis and physical testing. Two grades of reagent water are specified: Referee Reagent Water Non-Referee Reagent Water (b) Reagent water may be prepared by distillation, by condensation of commerical steam, or by use of a suitable demineralization (cation and anion removal) process. (c) Referee reagent water is suitable for operations in referee analysis. Non-referee reagent water is suitable for use in general laboratory testing.
