Corrosive Fluxes—Their Role in Soldering

Source

The efficiency of a soldering operation depends to a great extent on the correct choice of flux. Fluxes are chosen on the basis of effectiveness and rapidity of fluxing action. The corrosive type fluxes, consisting of inorganic acids and salts, fulfill both functions. Flux compositions suitable for the joining of the common metals and alloys are discussed in this paper. Due regard is given to the removal of flux residues.
