Use of Multichannel Recording in X-ray Fluorescent Analysis

Source

Although the basic principles of X-ray fluorescent analysis have been known for a long time, serious attempts to use this method have been made only in the last three or four years. A review of the current literature indicates that a number of laboratories are studying this method of analysis. Generally, two types of instruments are being used: commercial diffraction units converted to crystal spectrometers, or special instruments constructed in the various laboratories. Practically all of this equipment provides single channel recording. The workers at Applied Research Laboratories feel that the application of multichannel recording to X-ray spectroscopy leads to improved speed and accuracy. The application of this system to dispersive and nondispersive X-ray instruments has been studied.
