Some Experiences in Specific Surface Measurement of Metal Powders By Low-Temperature Gas Adsorption

Source

After reviewing the development of the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller and the Harkins-Jura methods, the authors describe their experiences in the design and operation of the low-temperature gas adsorption apparatus. A report is made of the work done at the Metals Disintegrating Research Laboratories on various methods of particle size analysis on metal powders including Cu, Fe, Pb, Sn, Al, Ni, Zn, Mn, Co, and the oxides of several of them. Comparisons are made of the methods used, and conclusions are drawn as a result of this work.
