The Engineer Looks at Pedology

Source

The methods now used by soil engineers in securing the necessary information pertaining to foundations, subgrades, subbases, and construction materials are many and varied. This is especially true on highway and airport construction. By combining the outstanding features of the various methods soil surveys can be produced which will furnish the engineer with a maximum amount of information at a minimum cost. The subject paper discusses the effective application of such a combination.
