The Effects of Light and Ozone on Rubber

Source

We are all familiar with the fact that light and ozone are enemies of rubber. Many observations are recorded in the literature which serve to demonstrate the complexity of the action of light. These references cover a period of more than a century. This is not surprising, since exposure to light is inevitable in the service life of most rubber articles. Studies on the effect of ozone cover a much more limited period of time.
