Automated Systems for Filter Efficiency Measurements

New methods of filter testing have been developed which eliminate the shortcomings of previous methods. The systems are fully automated and easy to use. The systems use a continuous flow condensation nucleus counter. Filter efficiencies of 99.9999+% can be measured with these systems. One system uses monodisperse aerosols for the challenge and can measure filter efficiency as a function of particle size. The systems incorporate an air-operated filter holder assembly for ease of use. A microcomputer system is used for automation and data analysis.
