Ultrasonic Transmission Tester for Detection of Unbonded Areas

Source

Through-transmission of an ultrasonic beam is a convenient method of testing objects for internal flaws. An ultrasonic pulse is transmitted through the object under inspection and the received pulse is checked for abnormal attenuation. The abnormally attenuated pulses can be counted as the object is scanned, and the total count is a measure of the area over which the defect extends.
