Role of Pressure Vessel Surveillance Programs in Power Reactors: Summary and Analysis of Asme Panel Discussion

Source

A panel discussion on the role of surveillance programs in nuclear reactor vessels was held at the 1965 ASME annual meeting. The paper presents opening statements by the panelists, and a summary of the panel discussion and conclusions. It is believed to be the first time that representatives of the four principal groups involved in surveillance programs—utilities, reactor manufacturers, insurers, and regulatory authorities—were brought together to exchange their views on the purpose and usefulness of such programs.
