A Hydraulic Earth Pressure Cell

Source

A simple, inexpensive hydraulic earth pressure cell is described. Pressure on the cell diaphragm causes fluid contained in the cell to be expelled into a nylon tube. The fluid level in the tube can be correlated with the pressure on the diaphragm. The cells have been tested over a three year period under simulated field conditions.
