Looking into the Future

Source

Curiosity and imagination, backed by creative and organizing abilities, are the essentials of new developments. They are the fundamentals which will create new industries and expand the older ones, with a consequent growth of national wealth. This will mean greater incomes for all individuals, a desire for more beauty as well as luxuries and comforts, and a constant rise in expenditures. Thus broad markets will be created. One of the greatest demands will be for colorful coatings to protect and improve property and help to maintain sanitary conditions throughout the country. The development of new painting products or the profound modification of the older ones, if the final materials are of popular appeal, might start a wave of enthusiasm for home decoration that would bring our industry back to more prosperous times. The use of the imagination may therefore be allowed full play in projecting the possibilities of the future, and we may lift the veil and speculate as to the products which may come from the test tubes of the laboratory for the development of more satisfactory decorative effects and even more permanent protective properties.
