General Guide for Use of Borehole Cameras—A Guide

Several types of borehole cameras have been developed to obtain additional information needed to supplement knowledge obtainable from diamond-core drilling. Complete core recovery in a diamond drill hole is seldom possible because of the presence of soft or broken strata, and critical decisions are frequently made by questionable inference where accuracy is most essential. In addition, it is frequently advisable to use supplementary techniques for purposes of orientation and for obtaining information beyond the limited confines of the drill hole.
