Flexibility

Although the term flexibility is used frequently by the paint industry, no authoritative definition exists. Webster's first definition “capable of recovering size and shape after deformation” applies more to elasticity. A minor definition given by Webster fits paint industry usage somewhat better, “capable of being bent, turned, or twisted without being broken and with or without returning to its former shape.” L. J. Radi in his Glossary for the Protective Coatings Industry gives the following.
