A New Type of Heat Flowmeter for Application and Study of Insulation and Systems

Source

Greater and greater use is being made of the heat flowmeter for laboratory and in situ measurements of materials and systems. Two new types of flowmeters are described: (1) with junctions arranged in two parallel planes and (2) with coplanar junctions.

Through metallization and photoetching, as employed in printed circuits, it is possible to achieve relatively slim and sensitive “intergrating” heat flowmeters that offer a large surface area and excellent uniformity.
