Some Observations on Erosion by Cavitation and Impingement

Source

This is a progress report discussing the selection of cavitation induced by ultrasonic vibration as a test for erosion resistance of metallic materials. The resistance of many metallic materials is measured and reported. In addition, the influence of vibration amplitude and material properties is discussed, and, further, electron micrography is applied to study the early stages of erosion.
