Statistics from Built-Up Roofing Sample Analyses

Source

This paper presents data from over 1,000 built-up roofing membrane samples analyzed by the contributing laboratories. These data were assembled in Task Force D 8.20.15, chaired by Justin Henshell, to determine the typical values that can be expected from the quantitative analysis of built-up roofing membranes.

These data are evaluated by standard statistical methods to determine the type of distribution, mean, standard deviation, range (95% confidence) and the typical values. For this paper the typical range is defined as the range that includes more than 50% of the samples.

The range of the typical values calculated are broader than the recommendations by the roofing material manufacturers, but not as broad as the recommendations of the National Roofing Contractors Association.
