Nonionic Emulsifier Selection for Liquid Formulations to Obtain Compatibility with Solid Formulations

Source

The major factors in a liquid/solid tank mix are (1) shear (mixing), (2) liquid (oil) formulation, (3) solid formulation, (4) ratio of liquid to solid in the tank-mix, and (5) active ingredient concentration in the carrier. A model that describes the rate of clabber formation is presented. A laboratory shaker test is used to generate test data that relate to field experience. An emulsifier component selection system is presented that involves an emulsifier knowledge base, candidate emulsifier systems, and tank-mix tests.
