Asset Management Information System (AMIS) for Environment Canada—Parks

Source

This article, originally based on a paper delivered at an ASTM symposium, describes the evolutionary development of a fixed asset management system for Canada's National Parks and National Historic Sites. The management system is intended to provide an integrated management tool which combines an information database, regular or routine maintenance management, and long-term reconstruction or replacement planning into one computer-based process. The article now includes a postscript written two years after the original paper which offers insight into the forces that have impacted upon project development and original concepts and the manner in which change was brought about.
