Dedicated Microprocessor-Based Controller for Fatigue Testing

Source

The Intelligent Mechanical Test Controller (IMTC) was developed to provide programmable control of servohydraulic loadframes. It includes hardware for control waveform generation, multichannel data acquisition, feedback selection and servoloop control. Software fused into the system handles arbitrary waveform generation, peak monitoring with interlocks, data processing by way of least square correlation of one channel versus another, and continuous machine status update and display. A Mechanical Test Language (MTL) was created and its interpreter fused into the IMTC to enable local as well as remote programming of mechanical tests. Data transfers are implemented in user definable engineering units. Use of the IMTC does not require additional realtime hardware or system software on most host computers.
