Epidemiology of Eye Injuries in Hockey

Source

Collection of hockey eye injury data revealed an alarming number of severe eye injuries suffered by Canadian players. In two hockey seasons, 63 blinding eye injuries were recorded. Rule changes and the development of Canadian Standards Association-certified eye protectors has eliminated the injury problem. When all hockey players wear certified protectors, the eye injury problem will be solved.
