The Delivery of Agricultural Fungicides in Paucilamellar Amphiphile Vesicles

Source

A novel water-borne formulation of 2-(thiocyanomethylthio) benzothiazole (TCMTB) has been produced using paucilamellar amphiphile vesicles. The vesicles were made from dimethylamides of tall oil fatty acids (DMATO). Greenhouse testing on cotton seeds and seedlings showed that this water-borne formulation was as effective in protecting cotton seeds and seedlings against fungal pathogens as commercially available formulations containing organic solvents and/or surfactants.
