Development of an In-Line Grout Meter for Improved Quality Control

Data have been presented which show that electrical resistance of freshly prepared cement-based grouts is linear with respect to grout-mix ratio over a wide range. The data serve to establish the proof of principle for application to the real time measurement of mix ratio utilizing a meter based on the electrical resistance of the grout. The data affirm that special care must be maintained during design and installation to insure that the electrodes are properly sealed.
