An Interlaboratory Comparison of Standard Test Methods for Medical Gloves

Source

Interlaboratory (round-robin) testing was done on medical gloves of four materials of manufacture. Leak testing was done by air inflation, water fill and chemical fill methods. The reproducibility of each method varies, depending on glove type. The methods also vary in sensitivity; the chemical fill method detects the highest proportion of pinholes. Tensile strength was evaluated by whole finger, ring and dumbbell methods, with the latter found most reproducible.
