Discussion of Measures of Building Performance Applicable to Individual Occupants and Small Groups

The discussion during the panel on measures of building performance applicable to individual occupants and small groups focused on three issues. These were the criteria that these types of measures justified, and how to ensure the usefulness of an evaluation employing measures of building performance applicable to individual occupants. The audience emphasized that measures should be straightforward and easy to understand and that the benefits must be economically justifiable. In addition, it was felt that it was necessary to accompany any changes to the environment arising out of the use of these types of measures with training in using the new environment effectively.
