Building Component Test Development Using Module Simulators

Source

In certain instances consensus standard test methods may not model building responses to environmental influences. Researchers in the past have utilized module simulators, which are model buildings for comparing the effects of specific building components and interactions between several building components. Examples of module tests are presented. A draft ASTM comparative module test method is also presented; this test method may be useful both in analyzing complex phenomena not addressed by present consensus standard test methods and as a basis for the development of a consensus standard test.
