Beta-C: An Emerging Titanium Alloy for the Industrial Marketplace


Ti-38-6-44 (also known as Beta-C®) is a heat treatable, deep hardenable beta titanium alloy capable of ultimate strengths in excess of 1380 MPa (200 ksi). Its attractive properties include low elastic modulus, good ductility and toughness, light weight, excellent corrosion resistance, and good fabricability. The alloy's metallurgy and physical properties are reviewed. Special emphasis is given to those properties important in corrosion-related industrial applications.
