Dislocation Core Microstructure and Its Effect on Irradiation Creep


A short review of the possible effects of dislocation core microstructure on irradiation creep is presented. It is shown that the account of point-defect absorption limitations in dislocation cores gives rise to orientational dependence of dislocation climb velocities and thus to nonzero values of irradiation creep compliance. Also, the kinetics of dislocation loop growth at early stages of irradiation is discussed.
