Monitoring Water Quality in Thermal Power Systems

Source

There is a definite need for standardized practices in determining measurements of continous instruments, in both fossil and nuclear plants. Due to the national guidelines being implemented, and the increase of continuous instruments now available, statistically-based performance information analogous to that of grab samples is urgently needed. Interplant (inter-instrument) precision and bias is also essential for substantial comparisons between a plant's measurements and the standard recommended by the guideline. Above all, there is a critical need for a dedication to achieving measurements of known and controlled quality of cycle chemistry parameters.
