A New Electrochemical Hydrogen Probe

Source

A new electrochemical hydrogen probe consisting of a thin layer of deposited nickel was developed for use in laboratory and in field tests. The principle of such a probe is based on the formation of nickel oxyhydroxide (NiOOH) which contains a mobile hydrogen. The probe was used to examine the effect of plastic deformation on hydrogen absorption and the relationship between KISCC and hydrogen content, and to monitor hydrogen contents continuously at the carbon dioxide absorption tower and line pipe.
