Direct Chemical Injection and Small Volume Returnable Container Technology

Source

Direct chemical injection and small volume returnable container (SVR) technology aid in minimizing worker exposure to concentrated pesticides. SVR containers allow the applicator to return unused pesticide to the dealer. This reduces the long-term on farm storage of pesticides and allows recycling of unused pesticide by the dealer. SVR containers also eliminate the problem of disposal of unneeded pesticides and pesticide containers by the applicator. Chemical injection systems directly meter concentrated pesticide into the water lines of the field sprayer. Connecting SVR containers to a direct injection system eliminates spray tank contamination and greatly reduces pesticide rinsate volume and environmental and worker exposure. Direct injection systems presently on the market are better suited for liquid than dry products, because of agitation and settling problems associated with dry formulations.
