Comparisons of Laboratory and Field Measurements of Resilient Modulus of Non-Granular Materials


This paper describes a series of experiments performed on non-granular materials. The experiments consisted of performing different dynamic tests in the laboratory and the field, and comparing their moduli measurements. Torsional resonant column, torsional shear and resilient modulus tests were the laboratory tests used. The Crosshole method was the only field test used. Comparisons showed good agreement between the laboratory measurements. Even though, some discrepancies were found in the comparisons of the laboratory with the field measurements.
