Consumer Protection from Home Drapery and Drapery Liner Flammability

Despite a perception that consumers know by education, experience, or even common sense that textile products will burn, the NFPA data on incidents in which curtains and draperies fueled dwelling fires disproves this belief. This study addresses the potential for increased fire risk from draperies in combination with separate drapery linings. The results raise the question of how best to protect the consumer from unnecessary fire risk with home draperies and drapery liners.
