Comparative Performance at Low Temperature of APP Modified Bituminous Membranes after Artificial and Natural Weathering

Comparative performance at low temperature of APP modified bituminous membranes after artificial and natural weathering is described. For many years accelerated test methods have been developed to study the behavior of the roofing membranes. The objective is to analyze the correlation between samples obtained after heating for 28 days at 80°C and 6 months at 70°C and samples obtained from roofs in Sweden, Norway, Belgium, France and Spain. The correlation between the natural and accelerated weathering results reveals that climatic conditions play an important role in modifying the cold performance characteristics of the finish product. However, cold adhesive or torched application methods also have a significant influence on the results.
