Develop a test method describing a procedure to predict human skin burn injury for protective clothing ensembles mounted on a stationary upright instrumented manikin which is then exposed in a laboratory to a steam or hot liquid hazard.
steam; hot liquids; protection
A method of this type was embedded in CGSB 155.20 which has been withdrawn. A new and updated version of the method needs to be developed as an ASTM document. Fabric and garment manufacturers have a need to test their products against this known hazard which no other existing test methods address.
The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
