This test method covers the determination of the temperature below which solid hydrocarbon crystals may form in aviation turbine fuels. If no crystallization point or freezing point can be measured, this test can be used to report the lowest measurable temperature reached before the crystallization point. This test method covers the range of temperatures from -xx °C to +xx °C with temperature resolution of 0.1 °C, however, the range of temperatures included in the YYYY interlaboratory cooperative test program only covered the temperature range of –xx °C to +xx °C.
This test method utilizes a micro, fiber-optical measuring cell embedded in a thermostated enclosure.
