New Guide for Standard Guide for?in vivo Evaluation of Osteoinductive Potential for Bone Inductive Materials
1. Scope
The scope of this guide is to propose in vivo evaluation recommendations and guidance for evaluation of osteoinductive potential for bone inductive materials, e.g., rhBMP-2, polymers [poly-HEMA], calcium phosphate ceramics, metals, and graphene family materials, etc.

Rationale
Currently, there is a standard guide for evaluation of demineralized bone products: F2529-13(2021) Standard Guide for?in vivo Evaluation of Osteoinductive Potential for Materials Containing Demineralized Bone (DBM). However, this standard guide does not account for the other products in the market which have been demonstrated to show evidence of osteoinductivity. This new standard guide would provide guidance for evaluating these other products.
The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
