New Practice for Invitro wound model to determine microbial barrier properties of a wound dressing

1. Scope

Microbial barrier effectiveness testing is performed to measure the ability of microorganisms to penetrate through a material (wound dressing) under specific conditions. This is a qualitative method and will demonstrate results as growth or no growth of the test organism after specified contact time.
No growth underneath the dressing indicate the barrier properties of the wound dressing however growth underneath the dressing demonstrate that the challenge organism penetrated the dressing and reached the media surface.

Keywords
