New Test Method for Tensile Strength of Geohazard Netting

1. Scope

This test method covers an index test to determine the tensile strength of geohazard nettings.

Keywords

Tensile strength, geohazard netting.

Rationale

The longitudinal tensile strength of geohazard netting and mesh is one indicator of the ability of the mesh to perform its purpose. This parameter is often specified when calling for mesh or netting to be used in geohazard applications such as slope stabilization or rockfall barriers. This test method is used to determine if the geohazard netting meets specifications for tensile strength.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
